Welcome to Twisted Basics; a blog where we will explore how food plays the primary role in how we feel and whether or not we thrive!  I believe that we are not simply cookie-cutter widgets needing prescription medications, but individuals who must take charge of our own health by examining our lifestyles and where we might improve them through a more holistic approach.  We must learn to inform the future by embracing what has also worked in the past, before we were slaves to convenience, fast food and microwave meals.   We must work alongside the medical community to look beyond standard protocols for answers that may be right under our own noses.  We are indeed what we eat!
